America and World Politics Cartoons - 14 Aug 2010

*** Check out the latest opinions on the economy, the November elections, the building of a mosque on Ground Zero in New York City and education in America now that budget cuts have arrived.

From Denny: So who wins the Bozo Sapien Award of the week in politics? There are contenders on both sides of the aisle. And the unemployed lose out the most as Congress goes on a six week vacation - especially those known as The 99ers who have been out of work for two years now. They continue to live without any benefits since unemployment benefits ran out after 99 weeks, hence the name for this group of up to five million Americans.

Our leaders do not appear to care about these unfortunate people and are completely tone deaf to their pleas. At least this group is getting smart and they are organizing as a political group now. It will be interesting to see how The 99ers can affect the November election cycle.

Election cycle entwined with the economy in America - Republicans have even more to fear than the Democrats on this issue since they enabled Big Business to outsource all the higher paying jobs in America.

House Rep. Charlie Rangel embarrassed the entire nation when he got up on the House floor and said, "What about me?" when the House was passing a bill to keep teachers in place across America. Nothing looked more self-serving and downright annoying than to see a Democrat ranting on the House floor, trying to take his case to public opinion.

So... when do House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Prez plan to yank Rangel from the House? His time has come and gone. He is a disgrace. Before this temper tantrum people like me were willing to give him his day in court. Now? Throw the bum out. He's clearly lost his moral compass and forgotten why he was originally elected to office: to serve the American people, not himself.

Check out how pervasive the economy and jobs are on the collective American mind as evidenced from the plethora of cartoons. Pro and con about the current politics and the economy the cartoonists do make us aware of what is going on in people's heads.

And Team Obama just left "the building" - Press Secretary Gibbs clearly made a fool of himself with this idiot comment and then had the nerve to be arrogant and not apologize. Team Obama needs to go and get replaced with people who will serve the President appropriately:

Speaking of stupid - Taliban killed off 10 American medical missionaries who helped them and their children for decades. Though what the Taliban braggarts don't know is that there are local Afghan chieftains who are fiercely angry at the Taliban and are hunting them down to avenge the deaths of those American doctors and relief workers:
