A Christmas Post: Christmas Story: A Christmas Tree by Charles Dickens: From Denny: Check out a Christmas story written by Charles Dickens over a century ago. Here, in this story, the author gives us a glimpse of the age of early technology of mechanical toys and the increasing consumerism at Christmas.
Dickens recalls his own childhood Christmas time. This memoir is an intriguing romp through the mind of a child as he perceives the Christmas magic and contemplates the holiday season. He likes to relate a ghost story along the way too!
Elegant vintage feathered fan and lady's hand updated in muted tones suitable for your best occasions: wedding, graduation, anniversary, birthday and more. Remember to send your thank you notes for gifts received this holiday season! More designs available; come see!
From Denny: This little pampered groundhog is a cute little guy. Every year he gets trotted out for a brief celebrity appearance to make his prediction about whether we will have another six weeks of winter or enjoy an early Spring. Last year Phil accurately predicted a longer winter. This year the little cutie is predicting an early Spring.
Be sure to check out the funny link at the end of this post for last year's post about Phil. There is a recipe for Groundhog Cookies and plenty of Groundhog Phil Trivia to enjoy too! Phil's official site is overwhelmed this year.
How convenient I already posted his information last year. Maybe some of Phil's psychic ability rubbed off on me? After all, obviously I "knew" last year to put up Phil's important information. You see, I "knew" a whole year ahead of time that the winter snow storms would be bad, everyone would be online at the same time, and that Phil's site would be overwhelmed. As a loyal fan of Phil's I "knew" it was my duty to promote his wonderful cheeky self to the world. Knock yourselves out and enjoy the Groundhog Phil trivia! :)
From Phil's Royal Court who make a big deal out of the occasion:
Groundhog Day, February 2, 2011
Punxsutawney Phil was raised from his burrow
By the call of President Bill Deeley.
He greeted his handlers, Ben Hughes and John Griffiths.
After casting an inquisitive eye towards thousands of his faithful followers,
He proclaimed that the Steelers are going to the Super Bowl!
Back to the business at hand...
He surveyed his surroundings carefully and found that there was no shadow around,
So, an early spring it will be."

Do you remember the funny and downright lame excuses your parents used to give you when talking about Santa coming to visit on Christmas Eve? 3 videos.
From Denny: Think back. How much can you remember about the things your parents used to tell you about Santa? This Christmas Eve my husband and I started that conversation. Though we have been married many years there were still some things we did not know about each other.
We laughed about the incredible stories our parents told us on Christmas Eve. It was becoming a contest between whose parents were the most outrageous storytellers. I think my husband’s parents won that contest as his mother was mostly Irish. The Irish have quite the reputation for storytelling even after generations of living in America. Bonnie was highly intelligent, creative, charming and just so endearing that she quickly became my favorite person in his family. She really insisted upon keeping a positive attitude, living the joy of life no matter what was going on around her.
