A Truth Journal: Colbert, Daily Show Videos: Naughty Government, Funny NSA Leaker Jokes: From Denny:  When NSA Leaker Edward Snowden poked the hornets' nest of the intelligence community (IC), the military, private contractors, the government and the Justice Department they geared up into a defensive posture like never before this week.

Their collective backlash was the usual heavy-handedness of the 800 pound gorilla, heaped upon one individual they figure is an easy win, which only made the government look worse to the casual observer, especially the enthusiastic voting demographic under the age of 30.

Clearly, the government agencies are laying out the case to the court of public opinion, hoping to turn the public against Snowden so they have an excuse to either give him the death penalty or send out another wave of assassins. It's a shameful attitude and excessive behavior.

A Truth Journal: Stupid Grilling of Sec. Clinton on Benghazi: Funny Colbert and Jon Stewart Weigh In: From Denny:   .... Both sides were overkill.  In the end, the Democrats looked a bit silly.  It was the Republicans that came across smelling like 10 day old roadkill on a hot summer's night.

Sec. Clinton handled herself with diplomacy, strength of conviction and principles - and smart political maneuvering.  She's ready for a run in 2016.  And these idiot Republicans may just have given her cause to do so.  Those guys never learn.

A Truth Journal: Petraeus Scandal: Funny Colbert Weighs In Why America Is In Financial Ruin: From Denny:  Yeah, we all need a score card to keep up with the constantly unfolding Petraeus Affair of former CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus and his also married girlfriend, whom he has "known and mentored" for many years, Paula Broadwell.

Enter in the conniving loose cannon on deck, Jill Kelley, as former girlfriend to Petraeus and current girlfriend to Gen. John Allen, author of thousands of emails, and you have a real mess.  It makes you wonder if Central Command is full of generals and chippies playing musical beds.

Both Broadwell and Kelley were busy girls.  They were busy sleeping their way to the top of Central Command (CENTCOM) and possibly (strong probability) selling classified information.  There is some compelling reason all involved have hired criminal lawyers, the best in the country.  Of course, Petraeus is busy employing a public relations firm to rehab his name before the story ends.  Who else commissions a Pew Poll to find out how much the public now hates you?  Bizarre.

That, and with the global economic meltdown we are all too poor to go out so we holiday indoors with our monster TVs for free, right?  The Olympics have proven to be some exciting stuff, something for everyone.

From Denny: Only Colbert could satirize the uninspiring truth about the Afghan War. President Obama addresses the nation from the East Room, renamed by Colbert as the "I Killed Bin Laden Room."

As Obama suggested we spend more time nation building right here in America it was Colbert that was outraged at the audacity of it all. "Who wants to get sucked into another quagmire?"

It's a country with a crumbling infrastructure (flash a photo of collapsed American bridges due to a lack of funds for maintenance), a barely functioning democracy (flash a photo of America's political leaders), large areas completely beyond the government's control (flash a photo of the state of Texas) and with a population of poorly educated and armed religious extremists who hate their government(flash a photo of Sarah Palin).

"And there's the stomach-churning human rights abuses (flash a photo of Donald Trump and The Celebrity Apprentice)." Colbert strongly advises Obama to reconsider nation building right here in America because "if you break it, you bought it."

From Denny:  Well, today the news is far from earth shattering. President Obama announced his reelection campaign to the yawns of the public this week. The GOP presidential hopefuls field is also a yawn to the Republicans. To the tune of 56 percent have absolutely zero interest in the field before them at this time.  Gee, "Do ya think?" they are finally waking up to the true GOP agenda?

Other good news on the horizon? The Tea Party seems to have peaked. A few months ago they were able to gather tens of thousands for their rallies. This week they claimed to have 350 people when the reality was around 70, judging by the camera phone photo sent in to CNN.
