A Truth Journal: XL Keystone Pipeline: Why Should America Take All The Risks and No Benefits?: From Denny:  Once again greedy Big Business seeks to hang the American taxpayers with all the liabilities - while they make billions in profits, free to walk away when it goes bad.

The XL Keystone Pipeline is a huge boondoggle that comes out of Canada.  Apparently, the Canadian firm, TransCanada, along with some American energy partners sum up their business mantra in one chant, "Let the Americans pay for it!"

Our State Department has been on a fool's errand writing up a study on the impact on America's environment, concluding it would not be a problem, in order to act like they are satisfying the environment folks.  As usual, everyone rivets their focus upon the distraction, taking their eye off the obvious.

The wolves are beautiful. As a kid, our family had a retired police dog that was half German Shepherd and half wolf. She was an awesome animal and attached herself to me. Talk about feel safe wherever we went.

They also care for falcons, eagles and hawks. Check out the closeup of the tame bald eagle. This wildlife refuge bills themselves as "the window to the wilderness."

Aggie, the tame polar bear, works in movies. The brown bear weighs 1600 hundred pounds. Can you imagine working as a movie animal handler with this gigantic guy? This little video clip is just stuffed with views of wonderful animals.

Insanity Comes Through Loud and Clear

From Denny: Found this funny site, (the customer is) Not Always Right, recently! You gotta love the Canadians! Working in sales or customer service is waking up in a whole new world when dealing with some of the unreasonable irate and squirrelly members of the public...

"From: Call Center, Alberta, Canada

This guy called in and got the wrong department, and the correct department was in another city, or perhaps country.)

Me: “I’m sorry, but I can’t access your account from my department. If you’ll let me put you on hold, I’ll transfer you to someone who–”

Customer: “No! Every time I get put on hold I get dropped.”

Me: “Well, I can’t help you unless you let me put you–”

Customer: “Stop interrupting me!”

Me: “I… I’m not–”

Customer: “Yes you are! Do we have to start using the over-and-out method?”

Me: “I’m not sure what–”

Customer: “After everything I say, I say ‘over’. Then you can talk. Then you say ‘over’, and I can talk.”

Me: “I’m not really sure that’s nessec–”

Customer: “Now, I need to put more minutes on my phone. Over.”

Me: “I’m in the post-paid department and I can’t access Prepaid accounts here. If you’ll let me transfer you I can get someone who can help you. Over.”

Customer: “No. I refuse to be put on hold. Just get someone to come over and use your phone.”

(There is a long pause.)

Customer: “…hello? Are you ignoring me?” *another long pause* “HELLOOOOOO!”

Me: “… you didn’t say ‘over’.”"

From Denny: I found a lot of exquisitely beautiful photography to go with the information on this article. It's more interesting than you would think to write about something so simple yet so needed, what we all have in common in life: water.

Note: For any of you who are using this Zemanta software for posting, it just underlined my last name of Lyon. So, out of curiosity I clicked on it and sure enough it takes you to the ancient homeland of my family name: Lyon, France. One of these days I will visit!

Of course, the family made a stop off in Scotland along the way of getting chased out of France about 20 years before the French Revolution. Seems there was a bit of a dust-up with the three Lyon brothers aristocrats trying to convince the King he ought to allow the regular folks a voice in their government. Guess the family finally wore thin on the French king and he banished them.

Of course, then they wore thin on the British king too. Two of the brothers went on to America immediately but my stubborn ancestor and his 16-year-old son decided to stay and make a nuisance of themselves. Something about my 16-year-old ancestor killing the Crown's tax collector. Now that's a real ooops! moment... His older brother sneaked him out of Scotland and on a boat to America. Probably with the admonition: "Go bother your uncles in Boston." The fire brand became part of the American Revolution.

Genealogy can be such a great resource for colorful stories. I always get a charge out of other people's stories of their ancestors. People. You gotta love 'em!

(Scratching my head... now what did all this have to do with an article on water...? Absolutely nothing! It IS Cheeky Wednesday coming up tomorrow... That's my story and I'm sticking to it...
