Video: Practical Affordable Flat Rate Health Care as Option

From Denny: Here's something that makes great sense: pay a monthly flat rate for a certain number of basic health care services like doctor visits and basic tests. You buy an additional plan for catastrophic care.

The reason even primary health care is so high these days is because of the middle man: insurance companies. These companies that venture capitalists are flocking to invest in, as they see both the vision and the profit, know that 50% of primary care's cost is wrapped up in transaction costs.

Doctors are fed up with the insurance companies and looking for creative ways to kick them out of their practices. Doctors want to spend more time taking care of their patients instead of concentrating upon paper work. OK, so when does this company called Qliance come to my area...?

Video: Making a Difference While You Tee Off

From Denny: I really liked this heart-warming story. It's about how as golfers people can contribute to helping the families and children of fallen or disabled soldiers. Without their help many of the children of service men and women could not go on to college.

This is a fabulous program, one of the largest grass roots sporting fund raising event ever in sports history. Patriot Day (on Labor Day) has been around for two years now. It has raised more than $3 million and awarded over 500 scholarships.

5 Food Articles and Videos You Might Enjoy

From Denny: All my nine blogs are basically a research and reading list of interesting subjects I find on the web from day to day. Sometimes, I have to remind myself that the folks who subscribe to one blog don't subscribe to another! :) (BTW, THANKS for subscribing, much appreciated!)

I used to try and bookmark a lot of this on StumbleUpon and other sites and found it took far longer than throwing it up on a blog and then linking to a social site!

So, I thought I'd start making the effort to cross-pollinate the blogs so if you missed something you might find useful or interesting on other blogs besides the one you are reading right now - sort of a roundup of the past week's best I've found or re-written for an easier read.

Here are 5 selections from the Comfort Food From Louisiana blog that also include videos to enjoy. Take a look!
