Gen. McChrystal Out For Crudely Dissing The President

*** Gen. McChrystal expected to resign for major faux pas against the President.

Photo by Pete Souza, The White House file

From Denny: Well, the hot dogs at the Pentagon have done it again. Ever since President Obama took office they have been playing games to find out how much pressure they can exert with Obama since they want the wars to continue into infinity. Today they lost the bet. President Obama is non-stop furious about McChrystal's idiot crude remarks.

Are you ready for this? It was a civilian member of the general's public relations team, Duncan Boothby, who set up the McChrystal interview with Rolling Stone Magazine in the first place. All that says to me is that the entire Pentagon culture is corrupt. It's time for Obama to clean house from the top down, starting with the entire room of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for tolerating this garbage. They are supposed to be the leaders. In reality they are guilty of treason during a time of war for disrespecting the President and disobeying his policies.

On Obama's part he has been far too naive about his military brass who are arrogant asses almost to a man. The current generals in charge of the war are nothing but Bush leftovers. Why did Obama actually think this den of snakes would be loyal to him in the first place? Hire an entirely new group, Mr. President. President Lincoln sure went through his fair share of generals during the Civil War.

What about McChrystal? Well, we all know the military are big on telling everyone they aren't quitters. The problem is that the latest troop build-up six months ago has not yielded significant improvements in Afghanistan. The problem is that McChrystal and his staff have been involved in this war for nine years now, the longest war in American history, an unproductive war.

The problem is that the general wants out because he can no longer come up with any good ideas of how to win this war. But since he can't look like a quitter he had to figure out a way to get the President to dismiss him. Easy, says the public relations team, just embarrass the President.

How do you do that? Easy, says the public relations team, just go get one of those loose cannon reporter types from Rolling Stone Magazine and let's bring him into our world. All we have to do is turn him loose to report as he pleases. And so he did, unvarnished reporting that revealed the military's bad attitude toward civilian government and civilian Presidents in particular. That's otherwise known as insubordination.

McChrystal was reported as trash talking the entire administration like calling one Obama official a "clown" and another characterized as a "wounded animal." Those are the clean versions for print. McChrystal himself "flew the finger eagle" to Obama about talking to France, our last remaining ally, to stay in the war. McChrystal jeered Obama's order as stupid. The general and his staff thought nothing of disrespecting Vice President Biden too, a man who has been an incredible supporter of the military for decades. Talk about bite the hand that feeds you.

Does it look like this military general has had it too easy for too long? My husband is so furious at this insubordination that he thinks Obama should not stop at just firing the fool. He thinks he should also bust him down to private where he would have to be under the command of other fools who abuse their power and step over the line of what authority they truly are allowed like he clearly has.

He should not be allowed to retire as a general after slamming the very civilian taxpayers who would be paying for that retirement. It's especially grating during this time of home foreclosures, extreme job loss, underemployment and the like to see a spoiled brat scenario play out from a member of our military. The time of all these special perks for the military need to end. They are arrogant and continue to harbor bad attitudes toward those who supply well paid retirements and perks. With more outbursts like this those days may come to an end for the entire military faster than they thought possible. America has a short fuse right now in this down economy. We are tired of suffering fools gladly.

Me? Firing McChrystal would be too nice in my book. Allowing him to retire would let the general off too easy where he will just get hired by some GOP think tank paying him a high salary. I think the guy should be busted down to Master Sargent and not allowed to retire for another 15 years. Let's see how tough he is now.

Gen. Stanley McChrystal has chafed since his first meeting with President Obama when he took office. Already, they are taking bets at the Pentagon for who will succeed the general as they say he is definitely road kill now. The word from McChrystal's colleagues is that he is an alcoholic and has been on self-destruct for 15 years now. A sad ending for someone who graduated West Point.

At the time of this writing, McChrystal is flying back from Afghanistan. He is expected at the White House tomorrow for a meeting with the President. Even Pentagon insiders advise McChrystal he should have a letter of resignation in his pocket - and give it to the President whether he asks for it or not.

My advice to the President? Accept his resignation and move on to better people to serve you and the people of America. It's time for the cowboy culture to be sidelined for good as it creates more problems than it solves.

*** UPDATE: 23 June 2010 at 2 PM - Gen. McChrystal relieved of duty after meeting with the President. Gen. Petraeus will assume duties in Afghanistan. He's the guy who practically wrote the book on counter-insurgency of which McChrystal was supposed to be an expert.

President Obama was described as "furious" about the remarks while the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen, told McChrystal of his "deep disappointment" in a conversation late Monday, a spokesman said.

"Gen. McChrystal has apologized to me and is similarly reaching out to others named in this article to apologize to them as well," Gates said in a statement.

Dark Humor: BP Oil Spill Cartoons - 19 June 2010

*** Check out the latest fallout from America's cartoonists about the BP oil spill.

From Denny: BP's oil spill and the enduring insensitivity and arrogance of CEO Tony Hayward is the constant conversation here in Louisiana. How any cleanup of this scale could continually be so mismanaged is beyond comprehension. And everyone in the world is thinking the same thought.

The cartoonists are busy lampooning just about everyone involved with the oil spill - from the president to Hayward to the lawyers to giving the animals the rights to deal with the fools who caused this mess in the first place. Just when you think every cartoon that could have been drawn, every opinion expressed about this disaster has been said they come up with new ones! Take a look and enjoy their creativity. Their comments certainly add to the national conversation.

BP Gets Their Moneys Worth From Apologetic GOP Texan Barton

*** Check out both the actual news clip and the funny mocking version by a comic.

From Denny: Talk about the ultimate Bozo Sapien Award going to Texas Congressman Joe Barton! We have to paint him into the Incredibly Stupid corner. Oh, that's right, he did it to himself.

Check out Barton's Words From A Bought and Paid For Fool Who Is A Traitor To His Country:

Texas Rep. Joe Barton from the House investigation bench about this oil spill to BP CEO Tony Hayward at the witness table, "I apologize."

"I do not want to live in a country where any time a citizen or a corporation does something that is legitimately wrong it is subject to some sort of political pressure that is — again, in my words, amounts to a shakedown. So, I apologize."

One of the many outraged responses to Rep. Barton is one from Vice President Joe Biden: "I find it incredibly insensitive, incredibly out of touch. There's no shakedown. It's insisting on responsible conduct and a responsible response to something they caused."

From House Speaker Nancy Pelosi: "While people in the Gulf are suffering from the actions of BP, the Republicans in the Congress are apologizing to BP."

My dear readers and blogging friends, let me share a thought with you about the facts. How much in campaign donations do you think Rep. Barton has received from the oil and gas industry since early 2009? Another player, Anadarko Petroleum, owns a 25 percent stake in the same oil field where the Deepwater Horizon rig sunk. The Center for Responsive Politics, a campaign finance watchdog group in Washington, lists Barton's donations from that company at $100,470. Pretty sweet deal for just a Congressman. Of course, the standard running joke spoken among lobbyists is that "it costs about $100,000 to buy and own a Congressman - and it costs $200,000 to buy and own a Senator."

Just how long standing is Rep. Barton's relationship with the oil and gas industry? In other words, just how long has he been in their back pockets? Try since 1990 he has received a boatload of cash from the industry and various political action committees associated with this industry. He has received over $1.4 million poured into his political campaigns. And, yes, he is the one House member who has received the most from the oil and gas industry. Gee, "Do ya think?" there is a correlation as to why he is the ranking member of the House energy committee for the Republicans?

Rep. Barton is the guy we all have to blame for the VP Cheney closed door off-the-record-illegal meetings with energy lobbyists writing America's energy policies and legislation. Barton shepherded major energy legislation that has negatively impacted our lives for years. Barton loaded up that legislation with billions of dollars of tax breaks and royalty relief for oil and gas companies who were drilling and doing exploration domestically. This guy is an embarrassment to America for taking advantage of millions of fellow Americans just to line his wallet. Yet another reason not to live in Texas.

Did you watch the hearing or see some of the longer news clips of BP's CEO Tony Hayward's very delighted and smug reaction as Rep. Barton was making his apology? That's what concerned me greatly, Hayward's body language reaction. BP has been waging a public relations war across America to weasel out of paying up for their damages. Just recently, they kicked Hayward out of the public limelight in the TV ads. Now they have hired actors with Louisiana accents who claim they grew up here - to screw us again BP style. BP never quits with the insensitivity and insults and double-dealing and lying and cheating and... (you fill in the blanks)

The weird thing here is that if BP just manned up and did the honorable thing it would have cost them so much less. But because they are a ruthless greedy corporate culture they look for ways to cheat. Had BP paid for the Super Tankers to create a ring around the oil spill and suck up the gushing oil and processed it this disaster would have been containable to the deep ocean instead of tar balls rolling in to our shores on the latest tide. No, these guys are so cheap they are bankrupting their multinational company. Why has the board of BP not kicked this guy out on his ear and withheld any golden parachute in exchange for refusing criminal prosecution?

On a lighter side, and far funnier, is this video clip of mocking the politicized actions of GOP Texas Congressman Joe Barton by comics like Stephanie Miller, radio talk show host featured on The Ed Show:

Louisiana to NY Mayor Bloomberg: Shut the F Up! - BP Oil Spill Cartoons - 12 June 2010

*** Check out the latest BP oil spill cartoons measuring the impact of Britain, America, Obama and the furious Americans of the Gulf Coast.

From Denny: The whole world of the Western Hemisphere is in an uproar over this BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico - as well they should be. The problem is that BP has high level British politicians and other rich billionaires in their greedy irresponsible pockets and are running a disinformation campaign fast and loose.

Idiot New York Mayor Bloomberg weighs in on oil spill

By the way, to New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, "Shut the F up!" Louisiana was there for New York when 9/11 hit. As a poor state we still rustled up enough money to build several new fire trucks and sent them to the fire houses who lost their crews and equipment in the horrific event. The wealthier among us spent thousands and thousands of dollars shopping in New York to rebuild your economy. The last thing Louisiana needs right now is Bloomberg's mean mouth commenting foolishly on the oil spill. Thanks for kicking us when we are down, you political jerk.

Idiot BP filing for bankruptcy to avoid responsibility to Gulf Coast

The real problem is BP has lied every step of the way. The bigger problem from the word on the street is that BP plans to file bankruptcy soon in order to avoid paying out their accountability to the American people. In short, the British - who have linked their national name to BP as a source of national pride - have declared economic war on America. The deal is that BP claims they only have $81 billion in net worth. What drugs are they smoking? They have huge oil stores all over the world which is nothing but huge savings accounts squirreled away for a rainy day scenario. "Show me the money!" says the Gulf Coast.

Britain's oil war on American economy

As in every war there is a defining moment when it starts. In this case, it's BP who decided to lift their dog's leg and pee all over America's face when our President protested at the incredible damage done to us. Britain's reply? How dare you hurt our reputation! You have got to be kidding me! Britain is destroying the planet's oceans and all they worry about is their "good name"?

This Gulf disaster is quickly becoming a world nightmare as there are over 1.7 million gallons of oil still spewing into the Gulf every day. There is now over 100 million gallons of oil in the Gulf and about to make it's way around the world, even to the British shores.

Guess it serves them right if the average Brit (somehow I doubt this) is actually gullible enough to believe BP's and their government's constant lying in order to keep the stock value up. Money is more important than the health of the planet or the health of the people on this planet. Shame on them for such low character.

Hold BP and Britain accountable

Keep up the pressure, Mr. President, and make the rat bastards pay through the nose. And while you are at it, time to freeze their assets. Time to stop them drilling anywhere off America's shores. Time to shut down all their gas stations in America. They want to be weasels then treat them like weasels and cage them into a corner where America is in control.
