Video: Why Did 168 People Die in Iran Plane Crash?

From Denny: If you haven't already heard of this sad news... a Soviet made plane has crashed in Iran and all 168 people are dead. Complete confirmation may take days.

It does cause us to take pause and ask a few questions: Was someone targeted on that plane and innocent travelers died because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Or was it a case of metal fatigue as the old Soviet air fleet is not exactly known for its standard of excellence in the area of maintenance. Metal fatigue comes about when the plane is constantly pressurized and then de-pressurized, causing the metal skin to expand and contract thousands of times. Sooner or later it loses its ability to do so without consequences.

Since the plane crashed in a part of the world that does not allow true investigation and professionals into their country to help them solve the problem we may never know the truth of why this plane crashed.

Video: Bad U.S. Scenarios if Iran Intervention

From Denny: Yet another smart person who understands why America should not try to inject itself into the Iranian political unrest. He and Olbermann discuss the possible scenario outcomes if President Obama did what the Republicans demand.

The Republicans must stand down from their destructive political position. It is becoming increasingly evident they don't care how many lives are lost in Iran if we were to follow their unwise course. Yet again more "wisdom" from the guys who brought us the global economic depression and an unwanted war in Iraq...

Keith Olbermann over at MSNBC is a lot like Fareed Zakaria over at GPS @ CNN - he gets smart people who actually know what they are talking about and allows them to speak for longer than a snappy "me first, vote for me!" political soundbite. They usually are not politicans. Take a look! If, for any reason the video fails to play, just click on the title link to take you directly to the page.

The Latest on the Iran Protests

Iran Esfahan _DSC7416Image by youngrobv (Rob & Ale) via Flickr

From Denny: Here's a great link to a story over at CNN about understanding the scope of the protests in Iran with a question and answer format discussing the political history that led up to today's present unrest - definitely 30 years in the making.

Iran 101: Understanding the Unrest

Iran's unrest has sparked global protests. Here's CNN's photo gallery link. (Two of the photos are graphic - just so you know...
Photos #8 and #11 depict bleeding people wounded by the police crackdown. #8 shows a man's face covered in blood - a bit sickening. #11 is a man's elbow bleeding. Other than that the photos depict the huge rallies.) I like the photo that shows a protestor holding up the sign, "Where's my vote?"

Here's a cool CNN video about how Moussavi's wife has emerged as Iran's version of our Michele Obama. Women are increasingly at the forefront involved in the protests. Toward the end of the video is where Ahmadinajed lies (again, what a surprise...) to Moussavi about Moussavi's wife's credentials to teach. The look on Moussavi's face says he'd like to rip the guy's face off but can't in that government repressive atmosphere if he wants to stay alive and fight another day. Take a look!

If video does not show (as it did not in the preview for posting, here's the link: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/world/2009/06/17/dcl.costello.iran.women.cnn

Visual Racist Propaganda From The GOP

From Denny: Have you seen the latest racist garbage coming out of the GOP? They claim this is actually funny and refer to it as an "Historical Keepsake Photo." Unbelievable. Look at the "photo" in the bottom right hand corner to catch the visual propaganda.

I live in a Republican state AND it's the South. I know damn well what they are really saying here. CNN calls it white eyes on a dark background. How tame can you get? What the GOP racists are really saying is "Look at the spook in the White House!"

Some fool actually had the stupidity to write a comment into CNN claiming "everyone should just get over it because he thinks it's funny." He's from Arizona, a GOP state. Hmmmm...

This GOP war room is quite active these days and as nasty as ever. With them it never is about real issues but rather about character assassination. Hate speech has to be stopped dead in its tracks. Blowback! If you agree, write CNN and complain like thousands of other bloggers!

Video: Interview with Experts Panel About President Obama's Cairo speech and Muslim reaction

Fareed Zakaria, Editor, Newsweek International...GPS host from CNN News Image via Wikipedia

From Denny: Since the Republican war room has been busy trashing Obama with untruths and venom for months, especially the past week leading up to Obama's Mideast trip and speech in Cairo, Eqypt, I thought I'd put up a really great video. This is from the journalistically responsible show of CNN's GPS with Fareed Zakaria (Newsweek's International Editor). He investigates politics like it should be done - instead of the propaganda and marketing hype so common in America the past decade and still ongoing from the toxic elements.

This was fascinating to watch as you hear a lot of facets about the same issue, many viewpoints not covered by our mainstream media and woefully distorted by the conservative screamers who know not of what they speak. None of them get their information first hand in the field by interviewing people on the street as well as the halls of power. They get their information from political handlers to disseminate their latest propaganda.

They don't even fact-check. (Fox "News" is notorious for never fact-checking before running with a story. It's all about gossip and innuendo with them. They are a scourge and an oozing wound on the face of our American society for being so deceptive and untruthful.)

It's been almost a decade since we could freely hear such viewpoints here in America on our airwaves. Ah, a breath of fresh air at last! You go, Fareed, great job, intelligently done!

Video: Interview with Wall Street Insider as Author of Liar's Poker

From Denny: If you didn't catch this great interview over at CNN's excellent (for a change) political show, GPS with Fareed Zakaria (editor of Newsweek), you will want to watch this! He talks with the author, Michael Lewis, of "Liar's Poker" about the economic crisis, the past and future of Wall Street, explaining their mindsets and how it came about.

Even I sat still long enough to watch this entire interview, confirming a lot of what I've figured out over time. This man was an insider who watched the greedy corrupt culture develop since the 1980's and he tells us the progression to the recent crescendo of devastating the world economy. A must watch!

Video: Susan Boyle - Singer - Britains Got Talent 2009

This lady is astounding! What is more fun is to watch the faces of the cynical types change when she begins to sing: priceless!

From CNN who finally had a better version that was not disabled for embedding:

From dailymotion.com is the longer 7 minute version that was disabled for embedding on YouTube for who knows what reason. What I like about this longer version is that it shows the audience's and judges' reactions before AND after she begins her song. It also continues on to the after performance interview with Susan. Watching the heckling judges and audience eat crow was probably why this video went viral on the internet. No one likes to be judged harshly or wrongly.
